Just a random person with a camera and a slightly cracked view of the world…
Why are some pictures not available for purchase?
The are a few reasons why I might have blocked sale of something. Usually it will be along the lines of:
- The pictures were taken somewhere that does not allow commercial photography.
- The pictures include someone else’s artwork or trademark in a “flat” and direct manner, where I have just accurately captured it, rather than doing something creative with it.
- The picture is mainly or entirely focused on a small number of people and I do not have model release permissions.
Essentially, I am trying to make sure I do the right thing and not steal someone else’s stuff, not violate someone’s privacy and not abuse someone’s hospitality! Hopefully you see something else you like.
